Room 2

Hi everyone,

I hope you all  have a very special Christmas and a fabulous New Year. Please keep safe and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

We have our  End of Year Concert on Thursday at 5.30pm. It will be a fun event and the children are expected to be there. It usually only goes for an hour at the most and is an opportunity to say goodbye to our Year 6 children and sing Christmas songs.

School finishes on Friday at 12.30 pm.

School starts on the 1st of February at 8.55am

Dheeraj has left us and gone to Auckland. We hope to hear from him soon.

There will be no homework or readers sent home next week.

Hi everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed the special gifts the children made and took home last week. They have taken great pride in their work.

We have a sad week ahead of us this week as Dheeraj and his family are leaving us. We hope them all the best in Auckland and hope they will keep in touch with us. WE will miss them very much.
Remember to send their school books back on Monday. They will need them to work in over this and next week.
This will be our last week for homework going home.
Swimming this week is Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Reports go home at the end of this week.

Our Inquiry Investigation this term has been Toy Making. The children have been working hard to design and make a toy to share with someone in their family. They are very proud of their creations and they hope you will appreciate them too.

Thank you to all those who helped with transport and supervision over our 2 EOTC days. We had a great time. The highlight for us all was seeing Makea perform at Marineland.

Hi everyone,

It is hard to believe that we are getting close to the end of the year. The term seems to be running away from us. I am very pleased with the children’s efforts this term.

We have been working on “Working well with each other” in the classroom and in the playground over this week. It would be great if you could encourage this at home as well. We have had a great response to this so far. It has been nice to see the children helping and supporting each other.

  Many thanks to those parents who have offered to help with our EOTC week next week. Hopefully the weather will hold for us.

We are making our toys in the classroom at the moment. If there is anyone who can help wtih sewing etc we would appreciate your help from Wednesday onwards in the afternoons.

Next week will be an assessment week for reading. I will not be sending home Instructional readers but the children will be bringing home independent readers from their Browsing Boxes.

It has been great to see the comments the children have added to the Wallwishers on this page. Well done!

It was a great day at the Gala. Thank you to all those who came along.

Next week:
We have got PMP and PE next week. Please send your child to school with shoes that are comfortable for them to run around in.
Remember to have a go at the homework in your homework book.
Remember to get the notice for the trip to Ocean Spa and Marineland in as soon as possible.

Write about your favourite toy and why you like it.

Hi everyone,

We are very happy to welcome Robynne Gross to the Hall Teaching team this week. She will be taking over some of the children in Room 2 and lessening the load. Robynne has been teaching at Arthur Miller School for many years and I am so pleased to have her in Room 2.
Please send your child to school with shoes that they can run in with comfort. Preferably sandels with heals in them.
We have got our Education Outside the Classroom week coming up on the 15th and 16th of November.
We are planning to go to Marineland and the Ocean Spa Pools for the 16th of November. We will be needing parent help for the 2 days. A notice will be going out to pre warn you of the upcoming events closer to the time.
